On 1/26/23 the GEMS welcomed back Dr. Wintor McNeel from the "WriteHer's Circle", to discuss the importance of literacy. The GEMS shared their novel projects based on the novels they read, which were gifts from the Beverly Hills West chapter of the Links, Incorporated. The BHW Links mentors also provided support to their GEMS mentees in reflecting on the books they read, and preparing for their novel project presentations. GEMS who presented their novel projects each received a $20 Amazon gift card from the BHW Links, Inc. as well as a "Literacy Award" certificate.
